Description

This course builds a greater understanding of secondary treatment to help operators not only recognize, troubleshoot, and resolve process problems that can lead to non-compliance, but also systematically work to optimize treatment. Key focus areas include a review of the activated sludge process, followed by mass balance approaches and typical laboratory procedures. Then, process control, operations, and troubleshooting are discussed.

This course is being offered free of charge under NEIWPCC’s Training and Technical Assistance Program, supported by EPA Grant TW84064801. After purchasing, NEIWPCC will send a link to take the online course within 2-3 business days to the address provided with registration. The email to access the course will come from Coassemble, our learning platform. Please check your spam for your link before contacting NEIWPCC for assistance. 

Upon successful completion of the course, eight Training Contact Hours (8 TCHs) will be awarded. TCHs are approved in ME (NEI-084-OD-8), NH (HQM-3EWW-693D6), NY (Pre-approved), RI, VT, MA, and CT. Successful completion requires all assignments be completed (including the course evaluation) and a score of 70% or greater on the final exam. Please note: In order to progress through the course, students MUST visit all modules and click on all content markers.

STUDENTS WILL HAVE TWO (2) MONTHS FROM PURCHASE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE. After two months, the student must register again.

NEIWPCC will be notified when a student completes the course. A completion certificate will be emailed to the address provided with registration directly from Coassemble.
