Description
| This full-day workshop explores the microbiology behind two critical wastewater treatment processes: activated sludge and anaerobic digestion. During the morning session, participants will use photomicrographs to identify microorganisms that serve as indicators of mixed liquor health and process performance. The afternoon session focuses on the bacteria and methanogens responsible for anaerobic digestion and methane production, along with monitoring techniques used to maintain stable digester operation and identify potential process upsets. Together, these courses provide operators with practical microbiological knowledge that can be applied to optimize treatment performance and troubleshoot operational challenges.
