Description
This two-day course is designed to be a basic introduction for operators new to the wastewater field. It will introduce definitions, terminology, and concepts of biological wastewater treatment. The course will include abbreviations, vocabulary, practice exam questions, and wastewater math.
Topics Covered Will Include:
• Certification and exam requirements
• Operator responsibilities • Wastewater characteristics
• Intro to microbiology & growth phase of microorganisms
• MEPDES permits and DMR reporting
• Sampling and monitoring
• Biological treatment plant overview
• Introduction to process control terminology.
Students should bring a calculator for math portions of the class
Presented by JETCC. Maine JETCC is a program managed by NEIWPCC through a contract with Maine DEP.
Additional Details
Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, and MA. TCHs are pending approval in ME.
Presentation handouts are available for this class at a price of $5 per day of the course. If you wish to have handouts available for the course, please select the option for them when adding this course to your cart.
Links to certificates will be emailed to participants after the course concludes and staff verify attendance through sign in sheets.
A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.
Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment.
