Description

The objective of this course is to prepare participants for the Maine Biological Grades 3-5 wastewater operator certification exams. The course will focus on applied math, activated sludge process control, biological nutrient removal, fixed-film processes, solids handling, disinfection, preliminary and primary treatment, secondary clarifier operation, laboratory testing, pump hydraulics, asset management, safety, and other topics relevant to wastewater treatment. The course is structured to include hands-on exercises, group discussions, and PowerPoint presentations.

This class will be held at Eastern Maine Community College as a remote session and will be formatted like a regular in-person JETCC class, with a host, morning refreshments, and lunch provided. Instruction will be streamed into the space and structured to ensure participant engagement.

JETCC is excited to announce that this year’s course is being offered free of charge due to support from the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce. Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, and MA. This class is approved for ME WW Operations TCHs.

Links to certificates will be emailed to participants after the course concludes and staff verify attendance through sign in sheets.

A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.

Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment.
