Description

The first of two parts of an introductory class designed to provide an understanding of secondary treatment. Included is an overview of the traditional activated sludge process including terminology, basic treatment control variables, and common process modes. Also covered is an introduction to blowers, diffusers, and oxygen transfer systems. Math calculations for municipal wastewater treatment are also discussed.

This course is sponsored by NEIWPCC in conjunction with MassDEP and MAWEA.

Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in NH, RI, NY, VT, CT, and MA. This class is approved for ME WW Operations TCHs.

Participants will be awarded TCHs consistent with the proportion of the session they are in attendance. Participation in polls may be used to verify attendance. Links to certificates will be emailed to participants upon course completion.

All participants must be registered to view the course. Registration closes when the class starts.
