Description

The activated sludge process is a complicated parlay of biological, physical, and chemical processes. This training will guide operators on how to identify common issues in the activated sludge system, proper testing methods, and ways to influence the system and achieve and maintain a balanced treatment process.

Common activated sludge issues covered in this program will include: temperature, sludge blanket depth, turbidity, settling issues, dissolved oxygen, and pH.

Following a classroom session, this course will include an on-site plant tour to examine current conditions and discuss recent issues with local operators.

Presented by JETCC. Maine JETCC is a program managed by NEIWPCC through a contract with Maine DEP.

Additional Details
Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, and MA. TCHs are pending approval in ME.

Links to certificates will be emailed to participants after the course concludes and staff verify attendance through sign in sheets.

A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.

Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment.
