Description

This course teaches wastewater operators about disinfection methods. Starting with the basic principles of disinfection, this course will include Maine state and federal discharge requirements, disinfection methods including chlorine disinfection and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, studies of applications of experimental disinfection methods, retention time, chemical storage, safety, and disinfection troubleshooting.

Following an indoor classroom portion of this class, there will be an on-site tour of a nearby facility to observe disinfection in process and to facilitate discussion.

Presented by JETCC. Maine JETCC is a program managed by NEIWPCC through a contract with Maine DEP.

Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, and MA. TCHs are pending approval in ME.

Links to certificates will be emailed to participants after the course concludes and staff verify attendance through sign in sheets.

A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.

Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment.
