Description
Asset management starts long before the computer and doesn’t end when the inventory is complete. Parts 1 and 2 focused on identifying assets, collecting field data, and building the foundation of an asset management program. Now that you have the data—what do you do with it? This course explores how utilities can turn information into action. Learn how to prioritize projects using risk, condition, and criticality, develop realistic capital improvement plans, justify budgets to decision makers, and use asset data to improve maintenance, reliability, and long-term system performance. Through real-world examples from Maine collection systems, participants will see practical approaches that can be implemented regardless of system size or available resources.
• Develop a practical asset management program from your collected data.
• Prioritize assets using condition, risk, and criticality.
• Transform inspection data into preventive maintenance strategies.
• Use GIS and CMMS tools to support informed decision-making.
• Build data-driven Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs).
• Justify maintenance and capital investments to stakeholders and elected officials.
• Learn from real-world Maine utilities large and small and how they make their decisions.
