Description
Knowing the basics of electricity is important for understanding how power is supplied, used, and managed in both wastewater and drinking water plant applications. From basic terminology and units to plant power distributions, this class is designed for operators to better understand how electrical systems work, device functionality and operations, electrical systems maintenance, and common issues. This course will emphasize safety, electrical risks, and the importance of having quality personnel troubleshoot electrical issues.
Topics Include:
– AC and DC Power Systems
– Understanding Units (including Volts, Amps, Ohms, and Watts)
– HP related to Power – 3 Phase/1 Phase
– Plant Electrical Supply and Distribution
– Circuit Tracing
– Electrical Safety & Hazards
– Common Electrical Issues & Basic Troubleshooting
Course Details:
Three (3) Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are pending in ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, and NY.
Presented by JETCC. Maine JETCC is a program managed by NEIWPCC through a contract with Maine DEP.
All participants must be registered to view the course. Registration closes when the class starts.
