Description

This four-day, in-person course is designed for those new to the wastewater industry and/or preparing to take basic-level industrial wastewater operator exams. Topics covered include reasons for treating industrial wastewater; industries and commercial facilities producing industrial waste; industrial wastewater characteristics; flow equalization; screening; oil/grit removal; reaction, reduction, and oxidation processes; solids removal processes; metal waste treatment; and pH science, terminology, and neutralization. Sample tests and math problems will be provided. Attendees must bring a simple calculator, scratch paper, and a pen/pencil to class.

Please note that this course will not cover all topics recommended to prepare for certification exams. We recommend that those preparing for certification exams also attend related courses including laboratory and regulations. For courses on these topics, please visit our training calendar.

Course Details

Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT. Approval pending in NY.

Participants MUST attend and be attentive during ALL FOUR SESSIONS to receive full credit. Participants must attend and be attentive during a minimum of 50% of the course to receive any partial credit.

Registration closes seven days before class starts. $15 fee for late registrations.

Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start date.
