Instructor: Tom Bienkiewicz, NEIWPCC This advanced course has been designed for individuals preparing for higher-level certification exams. Attendees should have completed basic wastewater treatment coursework, hold a low-level wastewater license, or have a working knowledge of municipal wastewater treatment processes as a prerequisite for this course. The objective of this class is to provide a more in-depth understanding of the activated sludge process to allow for better operational control and troubleshooting of problems. Topics covered include wastewater characteristics, flow management, dissolved oxygen control, solids inventory and control, and foam control. Math calculations for municipal wastewater treatment are also covered. Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT. Participants must attend the entire session and participate in polls to receive TCHs. Links to certificates will be emailed to participants upon course completion. All participants must be registered to view the course. Registration closes one hour before class starts. Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than 24 hours prior to course start time.
