Description

Understanding the basics of facility plumbing is essential for all wastewater and drinking water operators. This course will provide a baseline knowledge of pipes, fittings, and valves for both wastewater and drinking water applications. The program will also include live demonstrations for installation and repair of a variety of pipes and fittings of different materials and use. Finally, guests will learn a variety of pipe testing methods, including line acceptance, manhole vacuum, water main testing, disinfection, and more.

Topics Include:

– Understanding different types of materials of pipes and fittings and their uses
– Common failures and repair methods
– Installing and repairing different types of pipes and fittings
– Water and sewer product testing methods
– Accessing buried lines and valves
– Main tapping

This program is presented by JETCC. Maine JETCC is a program managed by NEIWPCC through a contract with Maine DEP.

Three (3) Wastewater & Drinking Water TCHs are pending approval.

Links to certificates will be emailed to participants after the course concludes and staff verify attendance through sign in sheets.

A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.

Cancellations: 

Cancellations must be received at Maine@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION FEE DETAILS:

The registration free for this course is waived for those who also attend the JETCC Community Engagement Event at EJ Prescott in Gardiner, ME on May 21. Those who wish to attend the course without attending this Event will be expected to pay the full registration fee of $75.
