This course will review laboratory and sampling fundamentals broadly applicable to wastewater operators. The program will cover types of samples, sampling locations, and the role of data quality objectives in planning sampling and analyses. The course will discuss tests that can be completed by an operator at the treatment facility, including best practices and common pitfalls. Analyses that will be discussed include settleable solids, total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, BOD & cBOD, COD total residual chlorine, and analyses for fecal coliforms, E. coli, and enterococci bacteria. Other parameters like pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen will also be discussed. The course will close with a focused session on quality assurance and quality control.
To avoid late registration fee, please register no later than October 10, 2024. Registrations received after this time will be charged a $15 late fee. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided.
