The first of two parts of an intermediate-level class designed to help students learn or review basic math skills utilized in a variety of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant operations. Through review and practice, the class identifies the calculations and conversions required to solve math problems for both daily application and to prepare for state wastewater operator certification exams. Topics covered include solids loading, chemical dosage, solids inventory in aeration tank, pressure, head loss, and horsepower. The Association of Boards of Certification formula sheet and NEIWPCC’s math workbook with sample math problems will be provided. Attendees should have a calculator, pencil and paper for this class.
This course is sponsored by NEIWPCC in conjunction with MassDEP and MAWEA.
Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT.
Participants must attend the entire session and participate in polls to receive TCHs. Links to certificates will be emailed to participants upon course completion.
