Description

This three-day, in-person course is designed wastewater professionals with a Grade 1 or 2 license who are interested in preparing for a Grade 3 or 4 wastewater certification exam. Municipal wastewater treatment concepts from collection through preliminary, primary, and secondary treatment to disinfection and solids handling will be reviewed. This course will emphasize more complex wastewater operations subjects that are more likely to appear on a mid-level wastewater certification exam including, but not limited to, solids handling, intermediate wastewater math, pumping, hydraulics, safety, operation and maintenance. Sample tests and math problems will be provided. Attendees must bring a simple calculator, scratch paper, and a pen/pencil to class.

Please note that this course teaches municipal wastewater concepts. It will not cover all topics recommended to prepare for certification exams. We strongly recommend that those preparing to take certification exams also attend related courses including Laboratory and Regulations. For a listing of available courses on these topics, please visit our website.

This course is sponsored by NEIWPCC in conjunction with MassDEP and MAWEA.
