| This three-day, in-person course is designed for those new or already in the wastewater field looking to take a mid-level industrial wastewater operator exam. Topics covered include industrial wastewater characteristics; flow equalization; screening; oil/grit removal; reaction, reduction, and oxidation processes; solids removal processes; metal waste treatment; pump types, parts, packing, and adjustments; reading and using pump curves; motor principles; electricity, motors, and horsepower concepts and pH science, terminology, and neutralization. Sample tests and math problems will be provided. Attendees must bring a simple calculator, scratch paper, and a pen/pencil to class.
Please note that this course will not cover all topics recommended to prepare for certification exams. We recommend that those preparing for certification exams also attend related courses including laboratory and regulations. Course Details Presentation handouts are available for this class at a price of $5 per day of the course. Industrial Wastewater Treatment, Volume I, and Industrial Wastewater Treatment, Volume II, third edition textbooks will be available for purchase for $125 for the set. A $15 late registration fee will be charged for all registrations received within one week of the class. A confirmation email will be sent to the registration email provided. Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than seven days prior to course start time. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show up are responsible for full payment. |
