Description
This course has been designed for individuals preparing for higher-level certification exams. Attendees should have completed basic wastewater treatment coursework, hold a low-level wastewater license, or have a basic working knowledge of electricity, motors, and horsepower as a prerequisite for this course.
The course will review electrical principles. Topics covered include volts, amps, and ohms; direct and alternating current; switches, fuses, and breakers; transformers; measurement of electricity; and general electrical safety. The course will move on to properties of motors and controls, including troubleshooting and failure modes. Lastly, the course will cover brake, motor, and water horsepower, as well as practical application through calculations and sample problems.

Course Details
Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT. TCHs also approved for Drinking Water in ME.
Participants must attend the entire session and participate in polls to receive TCHs. Links to certificates will be emailed to participants upon course completion.
All participants must be registered to view the course. Registration closes one hour before class starts.
Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than 24 hours prior to course start time.
