The first of two parts of an introductory-level math class designed to help students learn or review basic math skills utilized in a variety of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant operations. Through review and practice, the class identifies the calculations and conversions required to solve math problems for both daily application and in preparation for state wastewater treatment plant operator certification exams. Topics covered include problem solving, fractions, exponents, order of operations, conversions, averages, and solving for an unknown. The Association of Boards of Certification formula sheet and NEIWPCC’s math workbook with numerous sample problems to work will be provided. Attendees should have calculator, pencil, and paper during the course.
This course is sponsored by NEIWPCC in conjunction with MassDEP and MAWEA.
