Description
This three-day, 15-hour in-person course is intended for those preparing to take Grades 1 through 4 of the NEWEA Collection Systems Certification exams. Participants will receive instruction on collection system operation and maintenance (O&M), including but not limited to the purpose of wastewater collection, wastewater flow characteristics, collection system components; pump stations, system maintenance and inspection; pipeline rehabilitation, and collection system safety. The course will also review math concepts and provide example problems for exam preparation, so bring a BASIC CALCULATOR to use during class.
This course will be held at Springfield Water and Sewer in Springfield, MA. The third day of the course is test day if you choose to take it.
*Important note: This course includes an optional NEWEA exam at the conclusion of the class on January 29. Those seeking to take the exam must apply directly through NEWEA no later than November 29, 2024. Please visit NEWEA’s website at www.newea.org for more information or to apply to take an exam.

Course Details
Wastewater Training Contact Hours (TCHs) are approved in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT.
Participants must attend the entire session and participate in polls to receive TCHs. Links to certificates will be emailed to participants upon course completion.
All participants must be registered to view the course. Registration closes one hour before class starts.
Cancellations must be received at Training@NEIWPCC.org no less than 7 days prior to course start time. $15 fee for late registrations.
